"We may soon expect that the various vaccine farms will be massed into one gigantic trust, with a lobby at Washington and money to secure federal enforcement of a more stringent compulsory vaccination act for the entire country!" —Dr. James Martin Peebles, "Vaccination a Curse and a Menace to Personal Liberty", 1900
The first vaccine was introduced in 1796 in England. It was the smallpox vaccine conceptualized by Edward Jenner. Since that time, mandatory/compulsory vaccination has come and gone. Each time it was introduced, it was eventually refused and repealed through mass protests and the courts. As you can read from the pages of these books, mandatory vaccination and the struggle against it have been around since the 1850s.
"The anti-vaccinists are those who have found some motive for scrutinizing the evidence, generally the very human motive of vaccinal injuries or fatalities in their own families or in those of their neighbours. Whatever their motive, they have scrutinized the evidence to some purpose; they have mastered nearly the whole case; they have knocked the bottom out of a grotesque superstition. The public at large cannot believe that a great profession should have been so perseveringly in the wrong." —Dr. Charles Creighton, MA, MD. 1889
What were the results of mandatory vaccination in the 1800 and 1900s? The more people were vaccinated, the more diseases they contracted—this was from over 150 years of data. For more information:
