“Circumstances require firm and immediate actions from us. Whoever would try to stop us and further create threats to our country, to our people, should know that Russia’s response will be immediate and lead you to such consequences that you have never faced in your history. We are ready for any outcome.” —Russian President Vladimir Putin, warning the West to stay out of the conflict. 23 February 2022
We've gone from "We're in this together" to "Pray for Ukraine."
So far, the strikes have been surgical, targeting military installations and airports. However, several civilian targets were hit by astray missiles and artillery. Putin stated that Russia's goals are to "demilitarise" and "de-nazify" Ukraine.
The Soviets arming Cuba is like NATO arming Ukraine
In 1960, the US warned the Soviets to stop arming Cuba. The Soviets refused and built a military base with nuclear weapons in the US's backyard. This led to the 1961 Cuban Missile Crisis that lasted 34 days. At the time, it was thought the crisis would lead to World War Three, but cooler heads prevailed.
Since the Soviet Union dissolved in 1991, the West, through NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization), has been attempting to bring Ukraine into its fold. However, Putin has adamantly warned NATO not to arm Ukraine or accept the country of 41.3 million as a NATO member. Russia and Ukraine share a long border, so Putin's apprehension of NATO arming Ukraine is understandable. In addition, Russians and Ukrainians are Slavs that share the same lineage and a similar history.
Based on what the US did in 1961 in response to the Soviets arming Cuba, why did the West think Russia would do anything different when NATO got cozy with Ukraine? Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
The West would love to treat Putin like Muammar Gaddafi of Libya, Saddam Hussein of Iraq, or Bashar al-Assad of Syria; turn Russia into another Afghanistan, and divide Russia's vast natural resources amongst themselves. The only problem is that Putin knows everything they're up to and Russia has the most nuclear weapons of any country.

Wars under Clinton. Wars under Bush. Wars under Obama. All kinds under Obama. Iran embarrassed the US navy under Obama. North Korea was sending missiles under Obama every six weeks. Non-stop.
Then for four years (under Trump), all wars stopped, North Korea stopped immediately. Russia stopped. Iran stopped. Every country stopped.
Now Russia invades Ukraine under a war. With a dementia patient in power in the U. S. A weak leader again.
Oh, and gas prices were 60% lower when the four years of no wars. Now prices have doubled and we are at war.
I wonder who that person was when no wars were taken place. For four years and the States reached energy independence. With gas prices at 2.00 a gallon. And no inflation at all and a booming economy. Oh, the good old days.
Carry on with the dementia patient in the U. S. And a communist felon running Canada. Working great, isn’t it?
Anthony Prewitt. February 24, 2022. Where would you hide a bunch of uranium? Next question, why would there have been such an intense fight over a wasteland like Chernobyl?
Who has ties to Ukraine and whose name comes up in the Uranium One deal? (Hillary Clinton, who hates Putin with a passion ). This is called critical thinking and it’s constructive. Also a theory but let’s keep going! PS, if you’re not smelling what I’m stepping in, you can’t pick up radiation signals from uranium if it’s stored in a town that’s full of radiation.
Russian President Vladimir Putin called on the Ukrainian army to revolt and rid the country of “this gang of drug addicts and neo-Nazis"
